as a child wataru and his grandmother used to pay visits to a shrine in their neighbourhood. while they prayed for each other's happiness, he encountered a snow-white fox named yuki. many years later, a sad occasion leads wataru to pay another visit to the same shrine, but the yuki who greets him there isn't quite the same one he remembers
